Radish Kimchi

Today I scheduled to make kimchi. Unfortunately I forgot to buy Korean red pepper powder (고추가루). I had Chinese pepper powder, which is more course, but almost similar and just enough to prepare 1 radish (rettich) kimchi.

It’s easy to find kimchi recipes on the internet. The essential ingredient for the fermentation process is anchovy fish sauce. To add extra flavor B. advised to me to replace a few table spoons of fish sauce with shrimp paste. This could also be done for making cabbage (napa/ Chinese kool) kimchi.

CinemAsia Film Festival starts today

Yep… 10 days remain before D-day. Today I ordered 20 kg of first class short rib meat. This weekend I’ll start preparing radish (rettich) kimchi. At my favorite Chinese toko Dun Young at Nieuwmarkt I found Korean style radish, which is crunchier than the Dutch version.
