1st year anniversary event – Cooking Studio Toko Dun Young

Sunday, February 20 we were invited by chef Fong of cooking studio “Flavours of the Far East” to serve Korean shortrib tacos and kimchi quesadillas. One year ago Toko Dun Young started cooking workshops to extend their service to customers. The cooking studio, which is specialized in Asian workshops, is located at the 3rd floor of Toko Dun Young in Amsterdam. Also invited to cook was Unobento serving delicious Japanese rice rolls and mini pancakes. That day was also special to us, since it was our first taco event of this year.

Good bye…..

Sadly, last week a friend passed away. Only at an age of 37. He helped us with promoting our first Korean Taco event at CinemAsia festival last year.

Bulgogi Bapao

Hello world: the bulgogi bapao!

Since we started with the Korean Tacos, Tim and I always wanted to make bapaos or Asian buns as well. Once I tasted a chicken bapao a few years back made by the mom of a Surinam-Chinese friend I really wanted to learn from her how to make them. That moment never came. So last Sunday I tried to make bapaos myself with bulgogi filling … Not perfect yet, but certainly tasty!

Maak kennis met de Koreaans keuken op The Wild Wild East Festival (Feb/5 – Utrecht)

Wij gaan een aantal van de meest bekende Koreaanse gerechten serveren in de vorm van een proeverij. Saskia Leenders (Shilla Travel) gaat tijdens het diner iets over de achtergrond van de Koreaanse keuken vertellen. De gebruikte ingrediënten zijn zoveel mogelijk biologisch en van duurzame kwaliteit. Homemade (Chinese kool -en rettich-) kimchi wordt erbij geserveerd.
