Launch party July 3 2010: Café Medina, Amsterdam
repost & re-edit: 02-07-10: Over 70 people signed up already and approx. 30 people are maybes. We will be able to serve Korean tacos for a max. of 100 people. So only 1 day left to sign-up. It’s not a hype! It’s for real! Find it out yourself!

The location of our launch party is Café Medina (Amsterdam-Oost). Café Medina has been well-known for the tv show “S1ngle” (with Katja Schuurman, Bracha van Doesburg, Eva van der Gucht). This time we count on great Summer weather (!). In front of the café is a terrace where you can enjoy outside with a cool drink and most important our Korean Tacos ^ ^. For the soccer fans, there is a big cinema screen inside. For people with children is a play-ground on the opposite side of the street.
Update: There will be no entrance fee at the door. People can just choose how many tacos they want to eat or when they’ll come to the party or how long they wanna stay without having the burden of paying an all-in small fortune.Therefore the tacos and drinks will be sold separately. The price of a Korean taco will be EUR 3,50 per taco. Drinks can be ordered inside cafe Medina*.
Please only apply your presence by sending us an email to koreantacoparty@gmail.com. EVERY ONE IS INVITED! Signing-up is important for us so we know how many people we might expect that day. We want to make sure that everyone who signs up will enjoy a Korean Taco! Beside the Korean BBQ Taco, we will introduce 1 or 2 new versions. Among of them will be a Korean Tofu Taco!

The fridge is looking so much more organized than yesterday ^ ^. Today the onion relish and lettuce dressing will be prepared. As for the final step we’re going to make the Pure Red Smoothies (made from fresh water melons and pure pine apple juice) by Sunday morning together with the first batch of dough for the tortillas. So we can serve immediately once we’re set-up at the CinemAsia location. Can’t wait for tomorrow!

Almost weekend and only 2 days remain to prepare ourselves for the Korean Taco premiere at CinemAsia. Yesterday we tried to break the world record of stuffing as much food as possible in a fridge. Tonight we’re going to test our new bbq and preparing the short rib marinades. It’s not too late to tell your loved ones & friends to have a delicious bite on Sunday. (We wouldn’t mind either to have more followers on Facebook, Twitter & Hyves – probably we have to wait for that, once people tasted the Tacos

No big suprise here. We will start with 1 item and a drink. (The Pure Red Smoothie is a classic(!) smoothie from Tim’s former fruit venture). In time more dishes (we have some great ideas!!) will be added to our menu. So keep in touch with us through this blog, Twitter and Facebook. We hope to see you soon!

CinemAsia Film Festival starts today
Yep… 10 days remain before D-day. Today I ordered 20 kg of first class short rib meat. This weekend I’ll start preparing radish (rettich) kimchi. At my favorite Chinese toko Dun Young at Nieuwmarkt I found Korean style radish, which is crunchier than the Dutch version. I’ll try to post a story about making kimchi this weekend. Any person interested in Asian movies and food definitely should have a look at CinemAsia!

Food Night will be the 2nd Food Event for KoreanTacoParty. We are really excited again. We hope we can meet the expectations of all the (Korean) food lovers out there. More info coming the following months.
